Who
we are
We, the former parishoners
of Kebena Kidane Miheret Church (Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church) or
former students of Kebena Kidane Miheret School (Our Lady or Perpetual
Help School) of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, guided by the Holy Spirit, are
trying to help rebuild the church by using our gifts of time, talent
and treasure.
We developed this website to provide an opportunity to get acquainted,
to directly communicate and share experience with each other.
The organizing committee is from New York, but the members are from different
States of the US and from different countries and cities all over the world.
We are working closely with current parishioners in Addis Ababa who are
actively participating in the building of the new church.
We are blessed by guidance and prayers of Abba Bogale
Tiruneh (Abba Hailemariam), Abba Tesfaye Woldemariam, Abba Iyob Jemaneh,
Abba Yosef Wolde Tensae and Abba Yohannes Detamo while developing this
website.
We ask for God's blessings on Reverend Father Paul Jervis, previous Pastor
of
St. Paul the Aposte Church in Corona, currently assigned to
St. Peter Claver Church in Brooklyn, New York. Father Paul is always there
for our prayer community by giving us accomodation, spiritual guidance and praying
with us. Father Paul has written a wonderful book titled Quintessential
Priest, The Life of Father Bernard J. Quinn.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not
on your own understanding in all your ways acknowledge him,
and He will direct your paths.

Prayer to our Lady of Perpetual Help
“Behold at your feet, O Mother of Perpetual
Help! a wretched sinner who has recourse to
you and confides in you.
O Mother of Mercy! have pity on me. I hear
you called by all the refuge and hope of
sinners: be then, my refuge and my hope.
Assist me for the love of Jesus Christ; stretch
forth your hand to a miserable fallen creature
who recommends himself to you, and who devotes
himself to your service forever. I bless
and thank almighty God, who in His mercy
has given me this confidence in you, which
I hold to be a pledge of my eternal salvation.
